Teatime for women’s day
How are tea and women related? Well, “A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.” On this day, as we celebrate yet another March 8th, we want to start by remembering all the women who fought for the freedom and rights we enjoy today. Take a cup, sip some tea as we name some that you probably don’t know.
Let’s start with Amelia Earhart. You have probably heard about her but if you haven’t then get to know her. She is the first female pilot to fly on her own across the Atlantic Ocean. She was a courageous and brave soul and her legacy lives on. What we want to do to honor her on this day is to live by the following quote: “Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others.”. So, go ahead, try something new today!
Next on this list is Sojourner Truth, one of the most influential black women in history. Sold as a slave at the early age of 9, she will later escape slavery with her baby Sophia, making the difficult decision to leave her two older children behind. She went on to become an activist for the rights of African American and her legacy of speeches lives on. “Truth is powerful, and it prevails”, so rest assured that no matter where you are in your journey, you are powerful and you will overcome!
Finally, let’s spill some tea on Marie Curie. If this fearless woman was a tea, she would be our Earl grey organic blend. Strong, fearless and ready for anything. She invented a portable X-ray machine and discovered Radium and Polonium. She did so many more for science and was recognized with two Noble Prizes. “Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas” If we live by this motto, we will certainly achieve great things.
As we finish, please remember “where there is a woman, there is magic”. Sip some tea on us and Happy International Women’s day.
